AMSA seeks assistance in search for missing ultralight

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority's Rescue Coordination Centre - Australia (RCC) is seeking public

assistance in the search for an ultralight aircraft missing between Renmark in South Australia and Hay in New

South Wales.

The aircraft, fire engine red in colour with one person on board, departed Renmark on Monday morning (12

October) at 9.00am and has not been seen since. It is understood that the pilot's first intended stop was at Hay in

New South Wales on Monday afternoon.  The RCC was notified that the aircraft was missing last night (Wednesday

14 October).  AMSA's dedicated search and rescue Dornier aircraft from Essendon was deployed to conduct a

preliminary search last night.

The RCC is currently conducting an extensive aerial search along the proposed track the aircraft was believed to

have taken utilising the Dornier and several helicopters.

Any member of the public who has information or believes they have seen the aircraft are asked to contact the

RCC on 1800 815 257.
