Aviation Safety Management Set To Revolutionise Air Safety

Compared to any other form of transport, air travel is incredibly safe. But that doesn't mean it can't be even safer if the disciplined reporting and analysis of all defects and safety issues is further improved. That is exactly the aim of viation Safety Management (` SM', SSOB Code: SM), an Australian company that has developed a web-based software system called `SERA' (Safety Event Reporting and Analysis) that has the potential to revolutionise air safety.

SERA has been designed for the global aviation industry to fulfill an unmet market need in aviation safety management. SERA represents a next generation solution which provides intelligent, web-based reporting in real time, equally accessible on PCs or smartphones. SER 's progressiveness is demonstrated in its ability to analyse historical and real time incident information instantly, meaning safety issues can be predicted before they even occur.

The market for SM's progressive software is large and growing. The Australian Government, along with most of the developed nations' governments, have recently enacted new legislation imposing additional reporting and compliance obligations on airlines, required to be in place by 2010. Existing industry software does not adequately address these requirements- SM's SER is the industry's solution. In April, ASM successfully launched the Jetstar Pacific trial. Following the conversion of Jetstar's existing safety data into SERA, Jetstar is now ready to roll the program throughout the Company. ASM is currently engaged in early stage discussions with a number of major international airlines, including KLM, American Airlines and Qantas. The Directors have recently travelled to South East Asia visiting a number of regional airlines, including Vietnam Airlines, who has requested demonstrations of the SERA software.

In commenting on the tangible effect a Safety Management Program, such as SERA could have for the Aviation industry, Andrew Macqueen, Managing Director of Aviation Safety Management Limited, said,

"We are confident that SERA will be used not only by large international airlines but by flying schools and other areas of general aviation as well as ground based services. ASM's goal is to promote and provide universal access to exceptional air safety management."

ASM is currently raising capital on the Australian Small Scale Offerings Board (ASSOB) to help the Company expand. The offer is available to sophisticated and wholesale investors.
