No Lufthansa flights cancelled due to additional A380-engine checks
Engine manufacturer Rolls Royce has advised its airline customers using Trent 900
engines to conduct additional checks on the engines. In accordance with this advice
Lufthansa has already started checks on its A380 aircrafts.
Flight cancellations due to these additional checks are not expected. Lufthansa A380
flights are expected to operate as scheduled after the inspections have concluded.
Due to engine checks on the A380 aircraft in Frankfurt, Lufthansa operated flights LH572
on 4 November from FRA to JNB and LH 573 on 5 November from JNB to FRA with an
A340-600.
Due to engine checks on the A380 in NRT, flight LH 711 NRT to FRA on 5 November will
be delayed for approximately 20 hours. Lufthansa will rebook passengers affected by the
aircraft change on other fights and take care of passengers affected by the delay.
All other flights are expected to operate normally and on schedule.
Lufthansa regrets any inconveniences these adjustments may cause. However, safety is
always our first priority and we ask the affected passengers for their understanding.
