Abigroup starts work on marine project in Western Australia
Abigroup has started work on
a $23million marine, civil and associated
works project for the construction of the Australian Marine Complex (AMC)
Service and Supply Base (SSB) in Western Australia.
The contract for the project was awarded by LandCorp and when complete
the SSB will support the growing number of oil and gas developments in
WA.
The new wharf will be situated in Cockburn Sound some 12 kilometres
south of Fremantle and be able to accommodate roll-on/roll-off vessels of
up to 200m in length, with an associated four hectare staging area to
accommodate parking for approximately 200 truck trailers.

a full civil construction project including marine, concrete
and piling works and demonstrates
to the local market our diversity in
terms of civil infrastructure construction.
The project involves:
Civil Works
Earthworks, drainage, fencing, roads and pavements, pads,
structures, lighting towers, signage.
Marine works
Sheet piling, mooring structures, seawall construction and cathodic
protection.
Electrical services
Communications, new substation, cabling, earthing, testing and
commissioning.
Hydraulics
Sewer, potable water system, fire water.
Work on the project is scheduled to be completed by July 2010.
