Master Builders Australia, in conjunction with the Australian Government, announced the winners of the 2009 Department of Health and Ageing National Award for Lifestyle Housing for Seniors at Master Builders' National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards gala dinner at Conrad Jupiters on Saturday 7 November.


Mr Wilhelm Harnisch, Master Builders Australia's Chief Executive Officer said, "Australia's builders are continuing to design and build appropriate new lifestyle residences for Australia's seniors."

Mr Harnisch said "Each year the National Lifestyle Housing for Seniors Awards attract nominations from all over Australia. Builders are responding to the special needs of seniors by engaging them in selecting and building innovative residences that incorporate key features that match their very special housing needs."

The 2009 winners were:

* 50 Plus Construction, Halcyon Waters, Queensland

Halcyon Waters is 42 detached independent living units at Hope Island on the Queensland Gold Coast. The homes comprise of three/four bedrooms with a two car garage.
