Press Release Thursday 11th December 2008
Unique riverfront renewal project
Qanstruct is embarking on a 10,500m² office development, on a site of almost
a hectare in area only 4 kilometres from the Melbourne GPO.
Qanstruct Principal Town Planner, Aldo Kersovanic, said: We have not even
commenced marketing the project, and have already received interest from a
number of our existing clients keen to take up space within the project..
Mr Kersovanic adds: And it is no surprise why, with the sites excellent
access to road, rail and port and prospective tenants or purchasers have the
choice of views of the city skyline, Maribyrnong River or Kensington Roads
established Plane trees.
We are looking to lodge for planning approval within the next 2 to 3 months.
said Mr Kersovanic.
The site will appeal to businesses wishing to be in proximity to the CBD while
at the same time being able to provide employees with access to 320 on site
car spaces and bus stops, train stations and freeways being in close
proximity.
The design of the building will focus on Environmentally Sustainable Design
principals such as water harvesting, low energy embodied building materials,
occupant comfort and improved greenhouse performance.
Due to the zoning of land adjoining the Maribyrnong River largely being
residential and recreational, this will be only one of a few opportunities where
a development of this kind can take advantage of the amenity that the
Maribyrnong river provides said Mr Kersovanic.
He adds: This will be one of the first projects which will implement the
objectives and vision of the Maribyrnong River Valley Vision Design
Guidelines which were released by Department of Planning and Community
Development. In draft form in 2006.
Ends.
