AE&E Steps Up Activities in Asia-Pacific Region - New Central Unit Set Up for Australia, China and Thailand

Vienna, 31 March 2008 The Austrian Energy & Environment Group (AE&E) the sub-group that forms the largest division in Vienna listed A-TEC Industries AG has continued to expand rapidly in the first quarter of 2008, and is stepping up its activities in the booming Asia-Pacific region.

Building on the outstanding success of its Australian operation and last year's acquisition of a Chinese boiler manufacturer (AE&E Nanjing Boiler Co. Ltd.), the AE&E Group is now concentrating all of its activities in Asia and Australia at its Sydney location. Graham Salter has been appointed as CEO of the new unit, which will head the AE&E subsidiaries in Australia, China (Nanjing and Shanghai) and Thailand, which have a combined workforce of about 1,000 in the region. Together with fellow directors Tony Sheehan (COO) and Ron Salvador (CFO) he will oversee the AE&E Group's continued expansion in the region.

"The growth potential in the Asia-Pacific region, and the strong demand for our power generation and environmental technology solutions have made this expansion move necessary," said AE&E CEO Georg Gasteiger, commenting on this key decision. "This concentration of our project activities in a strong unit under a dynamic management team, and the pooling of our comprehensive know-how and local market expertise at a single location, will serve as a springboard for further progress in these high growth markets. As one of the major players, we want to play an active role in shaping these markets."

In the past few years AE&E Group companies have won large contracts in Australia, becoming an important contender in the region's power generation market. AE&E Nanjing Boiler Co. Ltd., acquired in 2007, specialises in manufacturing heat recovery steam generators, and is thus an ideal fit for the group's energy product portfolio. AE&E Consulting Shanghai offers a comprehensive range of engineering, consulting and other services related to flue gas cleaning plants.
