NSW COMPANIES HONOURED AT AUSTRALIAN EXPORT AWARDS

Three NSW companies were honoured for outstanding export achievement at the Australian Export
Awards tonight, hosted by the Minister for Trade, the Hon Simon Crean MP.

aussieBum won the Small to Medium Manufacturer Award, sponsored by the Commonwealth Bank.
Recognised globally for its product innovation and trendsetting styles, aussieBum exports men's
swimwear and underwear to many of the world's leading department stores as well as direct sales via its
website (translated in eleven languages). The company's sales during the global financial crisis have grown,
as a direct result of its innovative products and its dynamic marketing strategy.

Winner of the Large Services Award sponsored by Austrade was Servcorp, an international supplier of
office and IT solutions in the form of premium serviced and virtual offices. These two service offerings
allow small and new businesses exploring overseas markets to focus on their core business, rather than
setting up an office. Export markets now contribute to more than 75 per cent of Servcorp's overall
revenue, following many years of rapid expansion across Japan, South-East Asia, China, Europe and the
Middle East.

SMARTS Group won the Information and Communication Technology Award, sponsored by Ernst &
Young. An automated real-time surveillance technology for securities markets, SMARTS is a result of
Australian ingenuity and innovation.

A leader in securities market surveillance technology with almost 90 per cent of business derived from
over 30 export markets, SMARTS Group's customers are the leading exchanges and broking houses
worldwide including the London Stock Exchange, NYSE Euronext and the NASDAQ OMX.

SMARTS Group exports have grown by over 30 per cent in the past financial year alone. The Global
Financial Crisis is actually presenting SMARTS with additional sales opportunities in the medium term, as
it is now widely recognised that improved regulations and monitoring is required in particular in
derivatives markets, if a repeat of the financial crisis is to be averted in future.

Congratulating the 12 National Winners, Minister Crean said that collectively, these companies have
generated more than $1.5 billion in export earnings and employed more than 2,400 people.

The Australian Export Awards are co-presented by Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce
and Industry. Now in its 47th year of recognising export excellence, the Awards are one of the longest
running and most prestigious business awards. The Awards are run in collaboration with the States and
Territories, who each conduct their own Export Awards program. State and Territory winners progress
to the Australian Export Awards as finalists.
