Acer Arena appoints Executive Chef
The position of Executive Chef at Acer Arena has seen its previous Executive Sous Chef
appointed to the position.
Martin Koestlin will take up the position permanently filling the position left vacant by the
recent departure of Eddie Cofie to work on the Beijing Olympics and explore other
opportunities.
Martin has been at Acer Arena since the venue opened as the Sydney SuperDome in 1999.
His intricate knowledge of arenas requirements positioned him well when the position was
advertised nationally in March.
Originally from Steisslingen, Germany, Martin began his career with training at Hotel School
Villingen, Schwenningen and from there he held many positions that took him to Switzerland,
UK, France, South Africa, USA and eventually to the position of Executive Chef at the
Sheraton in Alice Springs. Martin opened the Vines Resort in Perth W.A. as Exec Chef in
1990 . In 1995 he relocated to Sydney to take up the position of Executive Chef, and
eventually Food and Beverage Manager, at the Royal Automobile Club in Macquarie Street.
In 1997 Martin started his own business and consulted to many organisations that included
the Sydney SuperDome and has remained with the arena ever since.
Martin has played an instrumental role in catering very many high profile events and
personalities that have included Her Majesty The Queen, Pavarotti, The Rolling Stones and all
of the other major artists that have played at Acer Arena. The catering of the venue has played
a very important role that has seen Acer Arena firmly entrenched as one of the Top 10 arenas
in the world since 2005.
Martin says
with all 40 corporate Platinum Sponsorships fully subscribed and with a very
healthy waiting list looking to book their place, I am looking forward to carrying on the high
standard of corporate dining that sponsors currently enjoy. I also look forward to facilitating
the demand of the 12,000+ audience the arena sees on many nights of the year.
Martin Koestlins vacated position of Executive Sous Chef has seen Paul Molan appointed to
the position permanently.
