Hans Wiedemann, Managing Director of Badrutt's Palace Hotel Receives the Award of Hotelier of the
World

Readers of the international trade magazine 'Hotels' have voted the Swiss/Australian 56 year old, Hans
Wiedemann, as 'Independent Hotelier of the World 2009'. The magazine 'Hotels' is read in 165 countries
and has some 62,330 subscribers. 'Hotels' is the only magazine to cover the global hotel market. The
magazine serves owners, directors, architects, designers, developers, investors and financial institutions, in
short the branch's decision makers.
On 9th November 2009, the 'Independent Hotelier of the World' prize was ceremoniously presented to Hans
Wiedemann. "We feel very honoured by the award. Such a prestigious accolade is a sensational recognition

Three candidates were nominated for each of The Hotelier of the World categories: 'Corporate' and
'Independent.' Readers of 'Hotels' magazine were able to choose their favourites and send in a voting slip over
the course of several months.

The hotel is member of Leading Hotels of the World, Swiss Deluxe Hotels and Swiss Historic Hotels.
