HILTON HOTELS APPOINTS NEW GENERAL MANAGER

FOR HILTON SYDNEY

Paul Hutton to manage Hilton’s flagship hotel in Australasia, the Hilton Sydney

Sydney, Australia – 18th December… Hilton Hotels Corporation has appointed Australian Paul

Hutton as the new General Manager of the Hilton Sydney. Paul, who was most recently General

Manager at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur, is set to lead the team at the Hilton Sydney to new levels of

achievement and success.

Ashley Spencer, Vice President Operations, Hilton Hotels – Australasia said, “Paul’s experience

in all facets of hotel operations will ensure the Hilton Sydney continues to develop as Sydney’s

leading business, events and leisure hotel. Paul’s experience in managing large hotels with

significant food and beverage operations makes him the right person to take the Hilton Sydney to

the next level of success.”

Paul has loyally served Hilton Hotels around the world for more that 24 years, commencing with

Hilton as a food and beverage trainee at the Noga Hilton Geneva. He has extensive experience in

Australia having been the manager of Decanter’s Piano Bar at the Hilton on the Park – Melbourne

early in his career. In 1990,

Paul took up the challenge of successfully revitalising the hotel’s

restaurant, Gallery Café, and was then appointed Beverage Manager.

He took his expertise to the Hilton Sydney in 1992 to oversee the operations of seven F&B outlets

in the hotel. He was instrumental in updating training and induction manuals, formulating

business plans and budgets, and personally training staff in service excellence. The outlets

flourished under his direction as he pushed forward persistently with innovative marketing and

promotional activities.

Paul has since worked at the Hilton Abu Dhabi, Baynunah Hilton Tower, Dubai Hilton, Nile Hilton

Cairo, Egypt and Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest, Romania. In 2003, he became the General

Manager of Kuwait’s first integrated business, leisure and lifestyle resort, Kuwait Hilton & Resort.

Under his guidance, the property was voted the "Leading Hotel Choice" by Middle East business

travellers across the region in the annual 2004 Business Development Research Consultants
